The Employer Nomination Scheme

The Employer Nomination Scheme (Subclass 186) is a permanent residency visa for skilled workers who are sponsored by an Australian employer for a permanent position in Australia. It allows skilled workers to live and work in Australia indefinitely and access government-subsidized healthcare (Medicare) and other benefits.
There are three streams for the Employer Nomination Scheme (Subclass 186) visa:
The Temporary Residence Transition (TRT) Stream: For individuals who have held a Temporary Skill Shortage (Subclass 482) visa for at least three years and are still working for the same employer in the same position.
The Direct Entry (DE) Stream: For individuals who have not previously worked in Australia or have limited work experience in Australia.
The Agreement Stream: For individuals who are sponsored by an employer through a labour agreement.
To be eligible for the Employer Nomination Scheme (Subclass 186) visa, applicants must:
Have a suitable occupation on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) or the Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL).
Meet the required points score on the Points Test, based on factors such as age, English language ability, education, and work experience.
Obtain a positive skill assessment in their nominated occupation.
Meet the English language requirements.
Be sponsored by an Australian employer who is willing to offer them a permanent position in their nominated occupation.
The Employer Nomination Scheme (Subclass 186) allows holders to live and work in Australia with their eligible family members. After holding the visa for at least three years, visa holders may be eligible to apply for Australian citizenship.
