The Student Visa

The Student Visa (Subclass 500) is a type of visa for international students who want to study in Australia. To be eligible for a student visa, an individual must:
Be accepted into an eligible course of study at an Australian educational institution
Meet the English language requirements
Have sufficient financial resources to cover their tuition fees and living expenses in Australia
Meet health and character requirements
Holding a student visa allows an individual to stay in Australia for the duration of their study program, as well as any additional time required for examination. Dependents of the student may also be eligible to accompany them to Australia on a dependent visa.
After completing their studies, international students may be eligible to apply for a temporary graduate visa, which allows them to remain in Australia for up to two years to work or study further.
