This program is intended for French-speaking international students who graduated from Québec or worked as temporary foreign workers. There are two streams in PEQ, one for employees in Quebec and the second for students and recent graduates who attended a Quebec post-secondary program.

You must fulfil the program’s general and stream-specific conditions in which you submit your application Candidates must be worked when they submit their application and have gained work experience in Québec. Candidates who successfully apply by PEQ get a Quebec Selection Certificate (Certificat de sélection du Québec, CSQ) necessary to immigrate permanently to the province. Potential candidates who don’t fulfil the PEQ’s eligibility requirements but have worked or studied experience in Quebec might qualify to apply for a Quebec Selection Certificate by Quebec Skilled Worker Program.

You need to fulfil both the program’s general requirements and the requirements of the stream in which you submit your application. Candidates must be employed at the time of application submission and have gained work experience in Québec.
A Quebec Selection Certificate (Certificat de sélection du Québec, CSQ), which is necessary to immigrate permanently to the province, is awarded to applicants who submit successful applications through the PEQ. Candidates who don’t fulfil the eligibility requirements for PEQ but they have working or studying experience in Quebec, might be eligible to apply for Quebec Selection Certificate via Quebec Skilled Worker Program. Processing Time

In the process of the PEQ program, the selection decision is determined simply from the information and documentary proof submitted on file, and it’s not a points-based program.

This program has a simplified procedure, and its processing times are much faster than a regular application. These applications are prioritized and typically processed in fewer than twenty business days. Although, if the application doesn’t have the correct information and documentation, it may be returned and even denied. That means the applicant has lost the opportunity. As a result, the candidate will have to submit a new application within the regular skilled worker process with a lengthy process time frame.

After receiving the CSQ, the applicant will apply to the federal government for permanent residence to conduct a security and health check.
