Atlantic Immigration Provincial Nominee Program

Atlantic Immigration Provincial Nominee Program

The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program was launched in 2017 as part of a joint effort to drive business growth in Canada’s Atlantic provinces, which include New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Prince Edward Island. To qualify for the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Stream, applicants must have a validated job offer. Usually, a Canadian job offer suitable for immigration purposes requires an LMIA, but this is not required for the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program. Instead, the job offer must be from a designated company.

Streams

To participate in the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program, the foreign national must meet the eligibility criteria for one of the three program streams: High-Skilled Workers, Intermediate-Skilled Workers, or International Graduates. These requirements vary based on the chosen stream.

High-Skilled Worker Stream

To be eligible for the High-Skilled Worker Stream, the foreign citizen must have a job offer from a designated company for a minimum of 1 year in a NOC Skill Level 0, A, or B occupation. In addition to the job offer, the candidate must meet the following requirements:
  • Have 1 year of full-time work experience. Hold a high school degree from Canada or its equivalent internationally. Score a minimum of CLB 4 on an approved English or French language test.

Intermediate-Skilled Worker Stream

To qualify for the Intermediate-Skilled Worker Stream, an individual must have a permanent job offer from a designated company for a position classified under NOC Skill Level 0, A, B, or C. The following criteria must also be met:
  • One year of full-time work experience at NOC level 0, A, B, or C. Completion of a Canadian high school education or its international equivalent. A minimum score of CLB 4 on an accepted English or French language test.

International Graduates Stream

To be eligible for the International Graduates Stream of the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program, the candidate must have a job offer from a designated company for a period of one year in a NOC Skill Level 0, A, B, or C role. The applicant must meet the following requirements:

  • No work experience is necessary. The candidate must have obtained a degree from an institution located in one of the Atlantic provinces where they resided for at least 16 months in the last two years of their studies. The applicant must score a minimum of CLB Level 4 in either English or French on a recognized language test.
